Concept Analysis: We discuss the potential of the project including any architectural features, like archways and recessed ceilings that would fit within the doctor’s style and budget. The approved architectural features, including dimensioned elevations, will be incorporated into the bid plan.

Review: Once we decide the overall look to be achieved, we review the function of each room to determine how to it can be finished in keeping with the chosen style. We discuss the pros and cons of each type of material, so the doctor can make informed decisions regarding durability, budget and maintenance requirements.

Selection: We work our way through a checklist to be sure we cover every detail from cabinet colors and dental chair fabric colors to drawer handles and switch cover plates. Once the selection process is complete, the specifics (manufacturer’s name, style and color) are incorporated into the overall bid plan indicating the exact placement of the items.

Fulfillment: I believe one of the most important elements of the project is communication. I work with the general contractor and sub-contractors to be sure they understand the goal of the design and answer their questions. When appropriate we do a jobsite review.  For re-decorating projects, I discuss a schedule so there is minimal amount of downtime for the doctor.
